Science films - revealing underexplored worlds

Since completing my Master's in Science Communication from Imperial in 2009, I've travelled the world with my camera to learn from pioneering researchers. My award-winning films have used stop motion lego Mars rovers to take people into space, and shown an orchestra explaining epigenetics. Through multimedia, I share transformative scientific ideas that reshape how people perceive the world. My films have reached millions, uncovering the forces that shape both our planet and ourselves. Health, climate change, psychology, biology, and neuroscience provide an endless stream of fascinating stories. I thrive on crafting creative, compelling narratives that make you care about the things you never knew existed until you hit play.

A film I produced around hydrothermal vents in Mexico has received over 160,00 views on YouTube

Making scientific research accessible.

I produced a series of films for The Lancet medical journal to celebrate their 200 years of being a progressive voice in science. Our series of films had over half a million views and was shown to MSPs as part of a workshop on climate change and health.

Filming Science Expeditions

I have embedded myself with researchers studying the top millimetre of the ocean, and others studying volcanoes 4000 metres below. I spent a month in Nepal hiking with research scientists and intensive care doctors as they journeyed to Everest Base Camp to help their patients by studying how the human body responds to the low oxygen levels at altitude.

Our work was featured by BBC Newsround, Channel 4, The Guardian, the Evening Standard, and several other media outlets.

Hydrothermal Hunt in the Marianas

I've spent two months at sea exploring brand new underwater volcanoes and seafloor ecosystems.  These trips increase our understanding of the most inaccessible of environments. My work involves sharing these trips with the public, and engaging them with scientific research so we can better care for our scarcely understood, and rapidly changing water-planet.
